Zinc Die Casting

Zinc Alloy · Die Casting

Alongside aluminum, our die casting division works in zinc alloy — the factory's own capability statement lists zinc and aluminum alloy die-casting side by side, run by the same tooling and inspection teams.

A Stated Capability, Presented Honestly

Capability · Zinc

This page exists because the factory's capability statement includes zinc alloy die-casting — and it is written differently from our aluminum pages on purpose. The manufacturer's published product range evidences aluminum castings by name; for zinc, the evidence is the capability statement itself, from the same About source that lists mould design, mould production, stamping, CNC machining and plastic injection. We present it at exactly that strength: a real, stated capability of the die casting division, quoted and sampled per drawing like any custom work.

That honesty is the point of this site. Where the range names a product, we show the product. Where the factory states a capability, we show the statement and invite the drawing. Buyers comparing suppliers will find that distinction more useful than a gallery of zinc parts the range does not actually list.

When Buyers Choose Zinc

Selection · Zinc vs Aluminum

Zinc die casting typically enters the conversation for smaller parts where fine detail, thin sections and a dense, quality feel matter — small housings, mechanisms, lock and hardware components (the machining range here already includes stainless lock parts, a neighbouring application). Zinc alloys cast at lower temperatures than aluminum, which tooling engineers value for die life on intricate tools, and zinc parts are often chosen where a plated or coated decorative finish is planned.

None of that makes zinc universally better: larger structural parts usually belong to aluminum, which is why this factory runs both. The DFM review compares the two against your drawing's size, detail and finish, and quotes the route that fits — not the route a single-process shop would have to sell you.

How a Zinc Enquiry Proceeds

RFQ · Route

Send the drawing with the intended alloy noted, or ask for a recommendation between zinc and aluminum. Because zinc work here is quoted from the capability side, the first reply focuses on feasibility and tooling: die design by the in-house mould division, sampling, then production on the casting line with the same CMM inspection discipline as the aluminum range. Finishes are specified at the same stage, so the sampled part carries the production finish, not a stand-in.

Engineering Notes — Zinc Programmes

Process Notes

Zinc programmes run on the same skeleton as the aluminum range: die design and build in the in-house mould division, casting in the die casting division, then machining, finishing and CMM-checked release. Two habits keep programmes healthy. First, freeze the cosmetic-face and critical-dimension lists at sampling — they drive handling and inspection for the life of the part. Second, decide the zinc-versus-aluminum question on evidence: where a part family straddles both metals, sampling the borderline component in the recommended alloy settles arguments that brochures cannot.

Buyers transferring an existing part should say so at enquiry. A part with existing tooling, a part needing new tooling, and a part being re-specified from a sample are three different projects with three different first steps, and the review will name which one you have before quoting anything.
